Buster Haas Minority Internship Program

The Buster Haas Minority Internship Program aims to increase the number of minority journalists working in newsrooms across Texas. The program is sponsored by the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors Association.

COMMITMENT FROM THE TAMPE TO THE INTERN

The association will place the intern in a Texas newspaper for a 10-week summer internship at a Texas newspaper of 30,000 or smaller circulation. The student will receive a $3,000 stipend, plus $1,000 for living expenses. Upon successful completion of the internship, the intern will receive a $500 scholarship.

COMMITMENT FROM THE INTERN TO THE TAPME

The intern should have a genuine interest in being selected as a Haas intern. The intern should be committed to conducting himself or herself to highest professional standards in a newsroom and in the community served by the newspaper.
