2007 Buster Haas Interns

Each year, the executive board of Texas Associated Press Managing Editors selects aspiring journalists from college and universities in the state to serve as Buster Haas Interns. The intern programs, established in 1998 to help diversify Texas newsrooms, provides minority students an introduction to community journalism at daily newspapers of 20,000 circulation or smaller.

The Texas Associated Press Managing Editors has sponsored and provided financial support for the program since it began. It is named for the late Buster Haas, an editor at The Dallas Morning News and a pioneer in the recruitment of minority journalists.
